The Korea Football Association (KFA) has issued a direct rebuttal to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's specific audit findings, stating that it will “consider the request for reconsideration.”

The KFA released a statement today (June 6) titled 'Association's Position on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Specific Audit Findings,' in which it responded to the ministry's findings on the following items: the appointment of the national team head coach, the handling of the appointment of national team coaches, the football center, the announcement and withdrawal of amnesty for footballers last year, and the payment of consulting fees to non-executive officers.

“In accordance with the relevant laws, we are considering whether to request a review of the MOCA's audit findings and requests for action,” he said.

Earlier, the ministry announced the results of a specific audit of the Korea Football Association yesterday, demanding severe disciplinary action, including suspension, against Chung, full-time vice chairman Kim Jung-bae, and technical director Lee Im-seng, who were involved in the selection process of national coach Hong Myung-bo.

In addition to the procedural problems found in the selection process, the ministry said that a total of 27 irregularities were identified, including falsely applying for a grant to build the Cheonan Football Center and improperly granting amnesty to disciplined footballers.

The KFA first emphasized that in the case of the procedural issues with the national team head coach selection process, the KFA's regulations were followed. 토토사이트

It explained that there were no procedural irregularities in the appointment of Klinsmann, as the then chairman of the powerhouse committee, Michael Miller, was delegated full authority to appoint the head coach after discussions with the committee members at the first all-powerful meeting.

In particular, he said, “The national players had expressed their preference for a foreign coach as the next head coach, and a senior official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism had also suggested that the government would support the coach's salary, so it was urgent to appoint a head coach to prepare for the evaluation game.” He added that it was not a case of disempowering the committee.

As for the video interview conducted by then-chairman Chung Mong-kyu, he explained that it was within the scope of his duties, saying, “As the chairman of the federation, I listened to the two candidates and asked for support for the future management of the national team, but I did not exert any undue influence.”

Hong Myung-bo also emphasized that there was no procedural issue in the selection process for Lee to take over as head coach, as the three candidates were recommended by Jeong Jung-sung, who then interviewed and negotiated with the candidates.

In addition, the association responded to the criticism that it opened a negative account of 60 billion won without the approval of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to provide financial support for the construction of the Cheonan Football Center, saying, “There was a communication problem between the association and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officials, but we did not intentionally and arbitrarily exclude the approval of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.”

“As for the loan that was not approved by the MOCA, we repaid the loan of KRW 775 million in full in September, and the borrowing contract of KRW 61.5 billion was terminated,” he added.

“We have been doing our best to execute the government subsidy received from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the construction of the Football Center within the scope of the law,” he said, adding, ”We will also discuss with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the installation of the KFA's office space in the mini-stadium.”

However, in response to criticisms about the payment of consulting fees to non-part-time executives and the operation of P-level leaders, the company said, “We will do our best to improve the situation after a close review.”
